The RMBC Cruising Guide to the North East Waterways, is a guide that is written and produced by RMBC. The book is a practical cruising guide to the North East waterways while providing interesting historial accounts of the waterways and scale charts to the most popular routes.
This section of the website is designed to provide information that is updated on a regular basis. Such information could not be printed in the book as it would become outdated in a relatively short space of time. A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CRUISING GUIDE
The Ripon Motor Boat Club Cruising Guide has been produced by RMBC for many years. The guide was originally part of the clubs handbook until 1982 when it became a seperate publication. By 1986 the guide included scale charts of the Ripon Canal, River Ure, River Ouse & River Trent. The guide has recently been updated to ensure information is up to date and to include scale charts of the Selby Canal, the River Aire, the Knottingley & Goole Canal, the New Junction Canal & the Keadby & Stainforth Canal. The 2009 edition also includes updated sections on the history of the North East waterways written by Pat Jones.
